Sew a Bata de Cola – From Start to Gorgeous Finish
.. even if you’re not a sewing expert, so that you’ll never have to miss a bata de cola class because you have nothing to wear.
Lots of people have made their own bata de cola using Flamenco Dressmaking patterns, some experienced sewers, others who had never made a garment before. Everybody agrees that sewing a bata de cola isn’t difficult if you know how. There are no complicated sewing techniques to master or exotic equipment to buy. If you have a little patience there is nothing stopping you from sewing a bata de cola that’s gorgeous AND functional in the dance studio or on stage.
You can now get the digital sewing pattern I’m using to make batas de cola for flamenco dancers all over the world. It is the same pattern we’re using for the online course with the same name.
This pattern is a variation of the bata de cola pattern Iris. It’s got separate pieces for the lower part of the skirt and the tail which, yes, adds a few seams but makes cutting and sewing easier.
The main advantage is that having the tail cut separately allows you greater freedom when it comes to choosing the fabric for your bata de cola. Your bata de cola will be fully functional even if you like a light weight fabric with a lot of drape for your skirt and outer ruffles.
The digital pattern + 48 page color eBook is for you if you’re not into learning from videos or don’t need the level of help you get in the online course.
